Fork Trucks & Cranes
A key function for CEVA Showfreight at many exhibitions is the onsite handling of exhibits. The shape and size of these exhibits can vary enormously depending on the nature of the show. It is therefore vital to have a range of lifting equipment and trained operatives available at all times.
The most common lifting device used is the forktruck. Through a nationwide agreement with Caterpillar CEVA Showfreight is in the enviable position of using only the very latest models. This state of the art technology far exceeds any H&S legislation that governs the exhibition industry and also offers benefits for the driver and the environment. Low exhaust emissions minimise pollution into the halls, whilst high tech controls reduce driver fatigue.
Certain larger exhibits will require lifting by crane. Whether it be a 10 tonne city crane for use in restricted space, or a mobile telescopic crane with capacity up to 100 tonnes, CEVA Showfreight make sure they have the right equipment available. There have been situations where standard off the shelf lifting equipment has not been suitable for exhibition use. In such circumstances CEVA Showfreight designed and manufactured their own devices, which have included various lifting bars, spreader beams and even a specialist car-lifting frame.
Just as important as the forktrucks and cranes are the people who operate them. A comprehensive risk assessment is produced for every show where heavy plant is operated whilst our qualified appointed person oversees all lifting procedures. Our Compliance Manager, in conjunction with our very own full time RTITB forktruck trainer and assessor, ensures every operator is trained far beyond exhibition guidelines and continually tested each and every year.
The latest equipment and the best trained people ensuring a safe working environment.
