Customs

When exhibiting overseas there is often a strict customs procedure to follow. Using their global coverage and expertise CEVA Showfreight will offer advice and prepare all relevant customs documentation. The customs procedures most regularly used are a Temporary Importation or the ATA Carnet system.

ATA Carnet

ATA Carnets are International Customs Documents issued by the Chamber of Commerce in the Country of Origin. They exist for the purpose of allowing goods to be sent around the world without payment of duties and taxes and to avoid import bonds or duty deposits. Goods under ATA Carnet can travel freely between countries that support the ATA Carnet agreement. This applies to a single entry and exit shipment into a given country or a multi-destination journey within the one-year validity period of the Carnet.

CEVA Showfreight can handle ATA Carnets from any overseas country that supports the scheme. Similarly we offer fast and simple ATA Carnet production for shipments originating in the UK.

Temporary Importation

CEVA Showfreight holds a Special Temporary Import Bond with H M Customs and Excise authorising us to import clients' goods for events and exhibitions without payment of Duties or Taxes. We can offer this facility for goods that will be re-exported within a period of two years.

The professional reputation and commercial scale of CEVA enables us at very short notice to increase our Bond to accommodate high value capital goods - for example aerospace equipment for the Farnborough Air Show with individual values as high as $15 million or the 400 individual entries added to our Bond during two weeks in October 2003 for ITMA. For the annual TEFAF arts fair in Maastricht our Bond exceeds 100 million euros as a result of the huge number of priceless artworks entrusted to CEVA Showfreight.
