Warehouse winners for TNT Network Logistics

Two TNT Network Logistics employees have been named as the top warehouse people in the country in the UK Warehouse Association (UKWA) awards.Glyn Aldous from Mendlesham took the top prize in the Warehouse Person of the Year category while Andrew McLymont from the Bryn depot was runner-up.
Mr Aldous is contract manager for TNT Network Logistics' contract to warehouse and distribute Sainsbury's general merchandise. He heads a team of 22 people operating seven days a week to interface with the transport department and other TNT Network Logistics depots coordinating timed deliveries into RDCs.
The judges said: "Glyn has made a major contribution to improving all aspects of operation and met all the criteria set for this award. Productivity in the shared user warehouse has increased by 12% through redesigning racking layout and operational flows. His team consistently achieves a picking accuracy of greater than 99%. Absence and sickness levels are down to 1.74% and workplace accidents dropped from five in the previous year to zero.
"Above all, Glyn is a proactive customer manager, striving continually to improve the service levels offered. His relentless search for perfection stands him out as a special warehouseman who has enjoyed a remarkable year."
TNT Network Logistics is the multi-user business of TNT Logistics UK and operates a total fleet of 800 vehicles through its network of 19 multi-user depots throughout the UK for more than 80 clients. Its clients range from newspaper publishers and magazine wholesalers to food manufacturers and high street retailers.
