- Sites in Australia, Poland and Brazil recognized for excellence at BMW annual parts logistics conference- Poland wins ‘Best Performing Warehouse in the World'
London, UK, 20 April 2010 - CEVA Logistics, a leading supply chain management company, has been recognized by customer, BMW, for operations excellence at three of its locations across the world. At the annual BMW Parts Logistics Conference held in February 2010, three sites in Sydney Australia, Slubice Poland and Sao Paolo Brazil were presented with one silver and two gold awards, and the site in Poland won the overall title of Best Performing Warehouse in the World.
The Awards form part of BMW's yearly evaluation of its global spare parts distribution centers, where over 40 sites are measured against five key criteria and allocated a score based on performance. The areas of measurement are: error rate; productivity; cost as percentage of turnover; stock accuracy and the implementation of a strategic initiative. If the resulting score is high enough, the site is given a bronze, silver or gold award: those who receive the gold award are asked to present at the conference and BMW's Regional Distribution Center Managers then vote for the best performer from across the globe. The Polish operation beat 11 other gold award winners to the overall title.
Chris Senior, CEVA's Global Automotive Key Account Director added: "Our partnership with BMW extends to virtually every corner of the world and I'm thrilled that three of our operations have been rewarded for their hard work, passion and meticulous approach. We pride ourselves on being excellent operators - it's even better when our customers recognize this! The good working relationship, level of cooperation and shared strategic vision that we have with BMW has played a large part in us achieving such impressive results."
CEVA has a long history of working with BMW and currently provides them with a wide range of supply chain solutions throughout Europe, Asia Pacific, North and South America.
