TNT Lojistik has become the Logistics Partner of Migros

TNT Lojistik, who has established a logistics partnership with the biggest retail chain in Turkey, is undertaking the management of Migros' new central warehouse in Gebze.
TNT Lojistik established in Turkey as a joint venture of the one of the logistics leaders of the world TPG N.V. and Koç Holding, has signed a logistics agreement with Migros, Turkey's most extensive supermarket chain. TNT Lojistik is to undertake the management of Migros' new central warehouse located at Þekerpýnar-Gebze.
TNT, who closely monitors the growth of retail sector worldwide, is now going to provide logistics services for Migros in Turkey. TNT will establish a logistics system at Þekerpýnar site similar to those used in the leading worldwide retail companies and it aims to further develop Migros' leadership in the market.
TNT Lojistik has dedicated a team of operational experts to Migros who started to work on the project since the beginning of 2001. The General Manager of TNT Lojistik, Murat Menemenli, highlighted that Migros has a management philosophy that constantly strives for success. Menemenli emphasized his content in Migros selecting TNT Lojistik as its logistics partner in achieving further success. Menemenli continued that cost control has become a top priority for companies under the current economic conditions of Turkey and it is possible only through in-depth logistics knowledge and leading edge methods.
Murat Menemenli said: "We started the project by integrating contemporary and innovative system of Migros into the system of our own. We aim to work with Migros in strengthening its competitive power in the changing and developing market conditions by maintaining its productivity level. We will apply TNT's high technology at the new Migros site in improving quality, achieving higher order fill rate, establishing an error-free picking system, providing flexibility to address demand changes in the market place with paper-free management systems and better planning capabilities."
TNT Lojistik, who aims to provide integrated logistics solutions encompassing advanced means of technology to the Turkish market, is targeting to grow with new customers in 2002.
