TNT Logistics is trusted by best-in-class multinationals to provide operational excellence to increase service levels and visibility and reduce costs, lead times or time to market. Kulik adds: "TNT Logistics continues to focus on delivering the very best solutions to support our clients' supply chains in close co-operation with our customers and these awards are testament to this."
About the awards
TNT Logistics was elected the "Best Logistics Company" for the third time by the magazine AutoData, one of the most prestigious specialised magazines in the automotive sector in Brazil. "Company cases that contributed most to the development of the automotive sector are chosen by AutoData journalists", explains AutoData's director and editor, S. Stefani. The choice of winners, however, is made by readers and participants of the Seminar Perspectives 2003 event. "It is not AutoData, but rather, the automotive sector itself that recognises TNT Logistics as a great company", states Stefani.
The Volvo Logistics Prize is a joint initiative by the well-respected Centre of Logistics Studies of the Coppead/Federal University in Rio De Janeiro, Volvo Brazil and Tecnologística, one of the leading publications in the logistics field in Brazil. The prize, which TNT Logistics received for the second time in a row, is granted on the basis of a survey, aiming at identifying perceptions of service levels and which is conducted among professionals representing the 408 top Brazilian shippers.
Including this IOLT award, the information technology system jointly developed by TNT Logistics UK and Rolls-Royce plc to manage and control inbound supply chains, so far has won three prestigious industry awards, as previously the Motor Transport Technology Award and the International Freighting Weekly Information Technology Award were granted.
The award-winning solution, called E-Manifest, integrates real-time collection and delivery information directly into Rolls-Royce's ERP system, in particular SAP, allowing real-time visibility of parts collected from suppliers and delivered into the Rolls-Royce system. The implementation of E-Manifest has resulted in an increase of on-time delivery from 20 to 80 percent, virtual elimination of goods receiving problems and an increase in supplier paperwork conformance from 25 to 100 percent.
At the recent prestigious LAA awards ceremony held in Sydney TNT Logistics gratefully accepted the award of the "Peter Gilmour Trophy" for "Training Education and Development", which is awarded for significant achievement in any aspect of training, education or the development of people relevant to logistics and the supply chain. This can cover formal education or private training at any level.
