TNT Logistics UK's commitment to quality has been recognised through accreditation to the Investors in Excellence (IiE programme. TNT Logistics is the first company in the transport sector to achieve the standard for any part of its business.Managed by Midlands Excellence, IiE is a UK initiative designed to assist all types of organisations to continuously improve all-round performance and results. IiE is linked closely to the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM) excellence model, which is used by 20,000 organisations across Europe.
Ian Nield, Chief Executive of Midlands Excellence, says high levels of satisfaction from customers and employees were among the factors that led to four TNT Logistics units being recognised as Investors in Excellence. "I am delighted to recognise such excellent performance. TNT Logistics is a role model company and can be very proud of this achievement."
Three contract teams from TNT Logistics, supporting the following clients - Anglian Water, NIE Powerteam and Rolls-Royce - were selected to receive the accreditation as well as the Administration central support function.
TNT Logistics UK has conducted its own internal Quality Awards programme for the last six years and Managing Director Neil Crossthwaite has no doubt that programmes such as these are vital to its strategy of achieving continuous improvement.
"The awards programme ensures that we measure our performance in all areas of the business and set targets for improvement. We are delighted to have the external recognition from Midlands Excellence, confirming that our service is of the highest quality," he says.
Organisations taking part in the Investors in Excellence programme range from small businesses to large companies such as O2 and Severn Trent Water, as well as many organisations in the public sector.
