TNT Logistics to take over In-night service from TNT Express
20 January 2003 - 09:57 CET
As from January 2003 TNT Logistics, a division of TPG, will incorporate the entire In-night business unit. The In-night service, formerly part of TNT Express, provides sector-oriented delivery solutions by transporting consignments during the night. This strategic repositioning is important to TNT Logistics as its customers in the automotive and electronics sectors will be able to further shorten repair times and improve service levels by using the extensive pan European In-night network for the distribution of spare parts.
This transition includes delivery services in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Hungary, Denmark, Netherlands and Belgium. The total Business Unit will be lead by Peter Mayer as Managing Director In-night.
Albino Quaglia, Managing Director of TNT Logistics' Central Europe & Nordics Business Unit, which has overall responsibility for In-night, comments: "We are strongly developing our networks in Europe to fully optimise our spare parts service offering to our clients. The transfer of In-night to TNT Logistics represents a logical next step in that strategy. In-night strengthens our portfolio of customised supply chain solutions by adding another flexible delivery service which can be tailored to individual customer needs."
