TNT Logistics is elected the Best Logistics Operator by the Top 400 Brazilian Corporations
11 December 2003 - 08:43 CET
For the second year in a row TNT Logistics has been awarded the Volvo Logistics Prize as the Best Provider of Logistics Services in Brazil. This awarding is a joint initiative by the Centre of Logistics Studies (CEL) of the Coppead/ Federal University in Rio De Janeiro (UFRJ), Volvo Brazil, and the Tecnologística magazine.
The prize is granted on the basis of a survey that is conducted among professionals representing the 408 top Brazilian shippers. It aims at identifying their perception of the levels of the services that are supplied by logistics service operators in Brazil. Giuseppe Chiellino, General Director for South America, said that "this is a highly significant prize because the survey is carried out among the top companies in Brazil, which, as it turns out, have had a positive perception of TNT Logistics Brazil's image. It is worth noting that our customers do not even amount to ten percent of the voting professionals!"
This is an important awarding for the Brazilian market in that it involves serious, respected institutions. In addition to Volvo, that is a name of excellency world-wide, the prize is still more valuable because it is also awarded by Coppead/UFRJ, a reference in logistics studies in Brazil, as well as by the Tecnologística magazine, one of the chief specialized publications in this field.
During the ceremonial occasion that was held last Tuesday, December 9, in São Paulo, honour was bestowed upon the top ten, of which TNT Logistics was the title-holder.
Also in 2003 TNT Logistics was elected by the AutoData magazine - which is another important logistics publication in Brazil - as the Top Logistics Company in Brazil. The voters included specialized press professionals, corporate representatives, and magazine readers.
