TNT Logistics cleans up

16 June 2003 - 09:10 CET

TNT Logistics has been awarded the contract to operate Deb's new 31,000 sq ft warehouse, in South Normanton, Derbyshire.

Deb manufactures and markets a broad range of skincare and surface cleaning products, including Swarfega, Jizer, Cutan hand hygiene products, and a brand new aromatherapy soap range.

TNT Logistics has operated a dedicated nationwide distribution network for Deb for the last nine years. The purpose-built warehouse is within 10 miles of Deb's manufacturing plant at Belper and has good access to the M1 and A38.

Jeff Bell, managing director, Deb Ltd, says: "The new warehouse is a reflection of increased sales and Deb's success. At Belper we just didn't have the room or space to operate."

"We have enjoyed a nine year partnership with TNT managing our transport activities and we have no hesitation in giving them the warehouse to run. The relationship with them has been tremendous."

He acknowledges that TNT has the expertise and experience to run the warehouse. "Our expertise is manufacturing cleaning products, therefore it makes sense to outsource the logistics."

The new warehouse was officially opened by Sue Sanders, who has worked for Deb for 39 years.

Neil Crossthwaite, TNT Logistics managing director, says: "TNT is proud of the partnership with Deb and delighted to be part of Deb's success story."
