TNT Container Logistics provides cost-effective alternative to wooden pallets

TNT Container Logistics has provided packaging company Field Boxmore with a safe, economical solution to delivering direct to production facilities with strict hygiene regulations.The solution replaces the traditional method of using wooden pallets to transport materials to the production facilities of those companies where hygiene standards need to be maintained, such as in the food and pharmaceutical industries.
Since wooden pallets cannot be transported directly into these production areas, the materials need to be decanted and then transported into the production area one box at a time. This had been the case for packaging company Field Boxmore when delivering to 3M Healthcare.
This decanting and moving process has proved to be both time-consuming and costly. TNT Container Logistics therefore introduced the Hygiene Pallet as a practical, cost-effective solution.
Now using this alternative, Field Boxmore receives its packaging on wooden pallets, which are then placed on an inverting machine and inverted by 90 degrees. The wooden pallets are then replaced with plastic Hygiene Pallets, upon which its packaging is delivered in bulk, directly into 3M Healthcare's production area.
This process not only eliminates the need to dispose of any cardboard and wood packaging, but it also speeds up the production process as it removes the time-consuming element of removing boxes one at a time.
The Hygiene Pallet provides a clean, economical and safe alternative to standard timber pallets and is suitable for both internal and external use within the food industry. It is also easy to clean with no dirt or contamination traps. The pallet is made of HDPE, is biologically stable and is food grade approved for raw materials. It also has an anti-slip surface and full perimeter base.
TNT Container Logistics can also track the movement of pallets using TNT Paktrak. This computerised, user-friendly container and pallet management system provides complete control of the packaging fleet as it moves through the supply chain and provides real-time control simply and efficiently.
