TNT Container Logistics – providing the ideal solution for the food industry

14 January 2002 - 16:06 CET

As the world's leader in the hire and de-hire of returnable intermediate bulk containers, TNT Container Logistics offers a range of plastic units specially designed for securely transporting a wide variety of food products.

Among the range is the highly versatile folding Magnum unit, which is ideal for the transportation and storage of meat, replacing the traditional method of using rigid, non-folding containers.

John Wright, TNT Container Logistics' European director of sales and marketing said: "Hiring the containers offers customers complete flexibility of use, with no capital outlay or routine maintenance and repair costs. The units are readily available from stock and are delivered clean and ready for use."

The Magnum is equipped with replaceable bottom perimeter pallet skids for easy pallet repair, lockable lid and drop panels on both long and short sides to allow for easy container access regardless of storage orientation. It has integral card holders to facilitate labelling and identification of contents, and is also available with perforated sides, making it ideal for transporting products that require ventilation.

The containers can be stacked five units high, and once emptied and no longer required, they are folded and stored by packing six into a single pallet space, ready to be collected for removal. The units can be folded flat by one operative in seconds.

The flexible, re-useable unit weighs only 65 kg and meets packaging waste regulations. It is constructed of high density polyethylene (HDPE), making it waterproof and providing extra protection and security.
