Procter & Gamble chooses TNT Container Logistics' solution for Sunny Delight

Procter & Gamble has turned to TNT Container Logistics' hire and de-hire service to transport a variety of its liquid consumer products across Europe, including the soft drink Sunny Delight.
By hiring containers on a casual basis, the manufacturing giant can ensure it always has the right number available at any given time to meet fluctuations in production cycles. As well as this total flexibility, hiring containers means there is no capital outlay for the company to worry about, and no routine maintenance and repair costs. Since Procter & Gamble simply returns the units when no longer required, no space is taken up unnecessarily at its plants.
TNT Container Logistics' European director for sales and marketing John Wright said: "The range of liquids produced and transported by Procter & Gamble is a perfect illustration of the versatility of the TNT Container Logistics service.
"TNT has been selected because it can provide the right container on the most appropriate basis for the product in question."
Procter & Gamble's Sunny Delight drink is produced in Hamburg and distributed to sites in the UK and Spain. Not only did the company need a suitable container for shipping, but it also required a complete logistics service which would transport the filled containers to its customers.
TNT Container Logistics' durable Pallecon Food Grade Liquid container - fitted with a liquid liner - was selected as the optimum solution. The Pallecon unit is ideal for use in the food industry where both product and environmental hygiene are of paramount importance.
Because the liner is completely emptied and discarded after use, no cleaning is required. Container storage and transport is also made more efficient as five demounted empty units can fit into one.
With access to TNT's substantial depot and transportation network across Europe and TNT Container Logistics' own dedicated service and consolidation depots in the UK and the Netherlands, it is able to arrange collection of containers from Procter & Gamble's customers throughout Europe at an agreed fixed price. TNT Container Logistics also cleans and inspects the containers if required, before returning them to their place of origin.
