CEVA renews partnership with Nestlé in Italy

21 December 2006 - 11:35 CET

CEVA Logistics today announced that it has consolidated its position in the Fast Moving Consumer Goods sector in Italy by signing a contract renewal with Nestlé, the world leader in the sector of mass consumption goods.

The distribution logistics managed by CEVA includes the collection of products from Nestlé's distribution centres at Albairate (MI), San Sepolcro (AR) and San Sisto (PG) and their subsequent distribution and delivery to more than 60,000 sales points in Italy. The distribution takes place through direct deliveries to end sales points or by using 13 transit point platforms that belong to the CEVA network. These transit platforms are fitted with controlled-temperature cells, with a total of 12,000 square metres of available indoor surface area.

CEVA also offers Nestlé a series of high added-value services, including an advanced return information management system that enables Nestlé to invoice according to the delivery date.

Gianfranco Sgro, President and Managing Director of CEVA Logistics Italy, commented: "The renewal of this contract is a pay-off for the work carried out over the last few years by CEVA in supporting the growth of Nestlé, and for the innovative solutions for supply chain management that were devised to meet its requirements. The signing of the present agreement serves as a foundation for continuing and further developing our collaboration with Nestlé".
