CEVA Logistics (formerly known as TNT Logistics), a leading global logistics and supply chain management company, today announced that it has been named global Lean logistics supplier by WABCO, one of the leading providers of electronic braking, stability, suspension and transmission control systems to the global commercial vehicle industry. Subject to specific sub-agreements to be finalized with WABCO, CEVA will manage certain elements of WABCO's supply chain, including the integration of inbound services from suppliers to WABCO plants and finished goods distribution to WABCO customers worldwide. CEVA will manage domestic and international transportation via its web-based supply chain event management system MATRIXTM.

"We are very honoured to be selected by WABCO to complement its logistics activities in the commercial vehicle market sector," said Christian Fuerstaller, CEVA's Managing Director for Central and Eastern Europe. "The WABCO logistics business represents an important step in our ambitious growth plans and demonstrates our capability to offer and operate complex supply chain solutions to our customers. In the last three years we have started to globally standardize and optimize our services in accordance with Lean principles and together we are considering a phased rollout plan to standardize global WABCO warehouses and transport networks in order to provide WABCO end-to-end visibility of their supply chain."

"The selection of a global Lean Logistics Provider is a major step in our global program to pursue our Six Sigma Lean journey and to manage our logistics globally following Lean principles," said Carsten Duevell, WABCO Vice President Manufacturing and Logistics. "We began an intensive selection process more than a year ago and selected CEVA not only due to their global presence and excellent contract logistics reputation, but due to their Lean logistics standards and knowledge. Selecting CEVA as our Lean logistics provider will allow us to focus on our ambitious growth plans while keeping supply chain costs in control by reducing waste and extending our Lean manufacturing standards to logistics."
